How I get my WordPress Database information into my git workflow

Anyone who is anyone uses git to manage their projects these days. Its a no-brainer when working in teams and even working alone its useful for version control and completing updates.

One problem I’ve faced over the years is getting WordPress database information into my workflow so that its safe in the event something goes bad.

Its not the most glamorous solution, but I have found a simple method is to:

  1. Download and install WP – Migrate.
  2. Export DB to folder where your git repo it running.
  3. Save as the same filename and overwrite each time you export.
  4. Push the change.

That’s it folks. This is a simple and not-so time consuming way to keep your database data safe.

If anyone has any better solutions please feel free to leave a comment below.
